Save Money by Following the Recommended Service Schedule

If you are still changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles, then you could be spending extra money on auto maintenance unnecessarily. True, the 3,000 mile oil change was the long-standing rule in the industry for decades. But with all of the advancements and modernization that has been made to engines and oil alike, many auto manufacturers actually recommend changing the oil every 5,000 to 7,500 miles.

This, of course, will depend on the model and mileage of your vehicle, as well as the type of oil that is used. But you could find yourself spending quite a bit less annually just by finding out what your auto manufacturer recommends for your car, truck, or SUV and adhering to that schedule instead.

If you don't know what is recommended for your particular vehicle, try checking your owner's manual. If you are still unsure, then feel free to ask one of the experts here at Kuhio Nissan in Lihue, Hawaii.
